DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
The words "EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW" are stamped on the United States Supreme Court building. In the words of Cher Horowitz: "As if."
It's no secret that the American judicial system favors those in power. Classism, sexism, and racism are fundamental in every step of the process. Money buys results.
Not Enough Sand points to the absurdities of justice in what is supposedly the land of the free. How can we take the American legal system seriously when it elevates people like Michael Cohen and Rudy Giuliani? What kind of system allows its Supreme Court justices to be openly bribed? Why would our country have a small group of unelected officials decide what the law is while they're taking money from interests invested in their decisions?
Our legal system is broken, an amalgam of corruption and malfeasance run by those who benefit from not fixing its failures. If we look at this and don't laugh, we'll have to cry.
